Jay-Z sent rapper Meek Mill a pricey Rolex wristwatch as a “VIP pass” to his high stakes blackjack tournament to benefit his Shawn Carter Foundation at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, on Nov. 15.
Meek posted an image of the Rolex Daytona chronograph timepiece on social media, Vladtv.com reports.
The 32-year-old ex-con captioned the photo: “Hov sent these as vip passes smh this rich sh** getting out of control lol. I’m not joking lol.” Rolex Daytonas made of 18-karat gold regularly retails for $30,000-$39,000.
The weekend event will cost $100,000 cash to buy-in to play blackjack alongside Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce Knowles-Carter.
The Shawn Carter Foundation gala will include silent and live auctions and a blackjack tournament with a $500,000 jackpot for the winner.
Less wealthy guests can purchase a $40,000 package that grants them VIP access for the weekend event. Alicia Keys will perform on Nov. 16 in a live concert that the hotel website describes as “an intimate one-time-only performance,” according to Revolt.TV.
Jay-Z hosted a celebrity poker tournament with baseball great Alex Rodriguez at Atlantic City in 2006. The tournament, to benefit the A-Rod Family Foundation, raised $403,862 in proceeds, but only $5,090 went to the charity, according to reports.
