North Carolina deputies rescued a man who was beaten brutally by a father who caught him inside a room with his partially nude toddlers.
Police responded to a “chaotic scene” at a home in the 6800 block of Luce Lane in Spotsylvania County in the early morning hours of Dec. 29, 2019.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered Stanley who had multiple injuries to his face. Another man was holding a gun on Stanley.
The officers ordered the man to drop his weapon, which he eventually did.
The father told police he caught Stanley in his children’s bedroom that morning. The children, ages 2 and 3, were “nude from the waist down,” the father told cops.
The unnamed father pushed Stanley out of the bedroom and began to beat him savagely. Someone in the home called 911, but dispatchers couldn’t understand the caller due to “the loud screaming in the background.”
Sheriff’s Capt. Liz Scott told reporters his deputies possibly saved Stanley’s life.
Stanley was treated for his injuries at a hospital before being booked into the Rappahannock Regional Jail on two counts of indecent liberties and one count of domestic assault.
He is being held without bond. The father was not charged.
