Tiffany Haddish revealed the list of lavish gifts she received from celebrity guests who attended her bat mitzvah ceremony last year. The most extravagant gifts came from Beyonce’s mom, Tina Lawson, and singer Barbara Streisand.
During an appearance on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Girls Trip star dished about how she studied the faith before her star-studded bat mitzvah.
She said Tina Lawson gave her a beautiful Bible. “Ms. Tina gave me the most beautiful Bible with this cross on it and everything, and I was like, is she trying to say, ‘Hey! You know you black, right?”
Kimmel, 52, who is Catholic, teased Haddish. “Beyonce’s mother sent you a Bible with a crucifix on it for your bat mitzvah?”
“But it had diamonds on the crucifix, though,” Haddish said. “So, I read from that and the Torah every day. I read from both. They start out the same.”
Even though Streisand couldn’t be there in person, she sent Haddish a diamond necklace with a Jewish star on it.
“I’m embarrassed because I got you the same present, except without diamonds in it,” Kimmel said.
Haddish joked, “Yeah, you did. No diamonds. But Imma wear it! Imma wear it when I work out and go to places where I don’t want people to feel like I’m flossing’.”
