An Indianapolis woman was killed hours after she live-streamed herself threatening to expose two downlow men on Facebook.
Jane Waughfield, 40, was shot multiple times while driving her yellow Camaro in Indianapolis traffic Tuesday morning.
Waughfield lost control of her Camaro, causing a multi-car crash. She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Hours before she was fatally shot, Waughfield live-streamed herself explaining how she walked in on two male “cousins” engaging in an intimate sex act. She said she was chased out onto the street, and she feared for her life.
The news of her death – and the video of her threatening to expose the DL men – went viral on social media and the blogs. But, other than the local news, the national news media ignored the story.
Social media users speculated that the national news media ignored the story because they believe Waughfield got what she deserved for extorting the downlow men to buy her silence.
But Louisiana reporter Jade Jackson says the national news media is waiting for the police to wrap up their investigation before reporting on the story.
“The elephant in the room sometimes cannot be discussed on the news (blatantly anyway) because we can’t jeopardize a police investigation,” she tweeted on Friday. “Everything has to be confirmed. Don’t think we don’t know or that it isn’t being looked into.”
