Jussie Smollett has suffered another legal setback. A Chicago judge threw out a lawsuit the disgraced actor filed against the Chicago Police Department.
Smollett filed a complaint against the Chicago PD for malicious prosecution after he was arrested last year for making false reports to police.
The ex-Empire star was accused of staging an attack on himself and he was charged with 16 felony counts, but eventually all charges were dropped by state prosecutor Kim Foxx, who was recently reelected against all odds.
But in February a special prosecutor re-charged Smollett with six new indictments. Special Prosecutor Dan Webb said in a statement that Smollett was charged with making four separate false reports to Chicago police, knowing he was not the victim of a hate crime.
The 37-year-old part-time singer also faces six counts of disorderly conduct.
Smollett has vigorously denied the accusations.
