Sean Combs threatened to hold the Black vote hostage until presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden reveals his Black agenda.
Combs, 50, was influential in getting out the Black vote in 2008, leading to a landslide victory for America’s first biracial president, Barack Obama.
But this time around, Combs’ influence is not as powerful or prevalent. Still, he seems to think the younger generation cares what he has to say about politics.
During an interview with ex-supermodel Naomi Campbell on Tuesday, Combs shared his views about voting for Biden, whom many believe is suffering from senile dementia.
He said he is “holding back” the Black vote until Biden meets his list of demands and adopts a Black agenda.
Combs took to Instagram on Tuesday, and posted: “Attention to all… THE BLACK VOTE WILL NOT BE FREE THIS YEAR.”
Biden already faces pressure from Black Democrats to pick a Black woman as his running mate. Rumor has it that Biden will choose failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as his VP choice when he makes his announcement in July.
Clinton, 72, enthusiastically endorsed Biden, 77, for president on Tuesday. Clinton rarely supports anyone or anything unless there’s something in it for her.
Combs’ longtime friend and ex-employee Kenny Burns strongly disagreed with Combs’ oppositional approach to voting for Biden. Burns voiced his opinions in Combs’ comments section.
In an Instagram post, Burns complained that Combs erased his comments and then blocked him for disagreeing.
Kenny is a cool guy with a level head on his shoulders. He never lets his emotions get in the way of his common sense like Sean often does. So this disagreement probably marks the end of their decade long friendship.
