A Russian nurse is under investigation for being out of uniform while passing medications to patients in an all-male coronavirus hospital ward.
According to media reports, the nurse, who is in her 20s, is under investigation for making rounds while wearing only her underwear and a transparent latex gown in an all-male coronavirus ward at Tula Regional Clinical Hospital.
An amused patient took a photo of the nurse’s unusual protective garb and posted it on social media where it went viral this week.
The patient said there was no objection to the nurse’s outfit in the hospital ward. But he admitted to “some embarrassment.”
Hospital officials disciplined the nurse for wearing “lingerie” around the male patients. Additionally, she was written up for “non-compliance with the requirements for medical clothing.”
The nurse, who has not been identified, explained she wore the odd PPE outfit because she was “too hot” while wearing her nurse’s uniform under the latex gown.
Despite the reaction from her male patients, she claimed she didn’t realize the latex gown was so revealing. She said she chose to wear a “swimming suit” under the transparent gown rather than nothing at all.
Russia has reported over 300,000 Covid-19 cases and 2,972 deaths.
