Howard Stern trended on Twitter.com after an unearthed video clip showed him wearing blackface and telling racist jokes during a comedy skit.
The clip was posted on Twitter.com, and retweeted by Donald Trump, Jr. prompting a backlash against Stern, who had claimed on daytime talk show “The View” that he never used the ‘N-word’.
In the skit, Stern plays actor Ted Danson in blackface while seated on the lap of the late comedian Sherman Helmsley, who plays Danson’s then-girlfriend Whoopi Goldberg.
Helmsley, best known for his role as George Jefferson on CBS television series All in the Family and The Jeffersons, pretends to be shocked as Stern drops the N-word repeatedly while saying, “Whoopi wrote it.”
The skit was a parody of Danson’s infamous blackface performance with Goldberg at a Friar’s Club roast in 1993. Stern’s sidekick Robin Quivers is seen in the clip criticizing Stern for his repeated use of the N-word.

Stern expressed regret about the controversy on his SiriusXM show on Monday: “The s**t I did was f**king crazy,” Stern said. “I’ll be the first to admit. I won’t go back and watch those old shows; it’s like, who is that guy.
“The big headline is this, and this is my fear in all of this,” Stern continued. “I was able to change my approach, able to change my life and change how I communicated. If I had to do it all over again, would I lampoon Ted Danson, a white guy in blackface? Yeah, I was lampooning him and saying, I’m going to shine a light on this. But would I go about it the same way now? Probably not. Not probably, I wouldn’t.”
Stern challenged Trump Jr. and his father President Trump to seek therapy.
“At the same point, I will say, it f**king distresses me that Donald Trump Jr. and Donald themselves won’t go into psychotherapy and change. Why not change the way you’re approaching things because, wearing a mask is not a bad thing?”
