A SWAT team rescued three children from a Florida home after their father killed his wife and mother-in-law before turning the gun on himself.
The murder-suicide occurred on Saturday at 7:15 a.m. at a home in Tamarac, about 40 miles north of Miami.
Police say Clody Sylverne, 39, shot his wife, Benouchka, and her 65-year-old mother, before killing himself.
Police responding to a 911 call found Sylverne and Benouchka dead on a bedroom floor. Her mother was airlifted to a local hospital, where she died.
The couple’s children — ages 4, 8 and 11 — were found hiding in a bedroom closet, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
A SWAT team helped the kids escape through a bedroom window, WSVN-TV reports.
The children were examined a hospital, where they met with victim advocates and treatment specialists. They remain in state custody.
