Dr. Dre‘s estranged wife Nicole Young is making serious allegations of spousal abuse while he’s laid up in an intensive care unit.
According to PEOPLE, Nicole, 51, alleges that Dr, born Andre Young, “held a gun to my head” twice in 2000 and 2001, that he “punched me in the head/face” in 1999 and 200 and that he “kicked down a door” while she hid “from his rage” in 2016, among other instances of abuse.
“Andre has verbally and emotionally decimated my personhood to the extent that I currently suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome,” she said in documents, filed in the Superior Court of California.
In his response, Dre reportedly told the court that “at no time did I ever abuse Nicole or threaten her physical safety.” He called the allegations a “blatant lie” — and that she never called the police during their marriage.
The 55-year-old Compton native is currently in an ICU at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angles, after suffering a ruptured aneurysm in his brain in December.
The rap producer updated fans on his condition on Jan. 5, saying he was “doing great.”
Rapper-turned-actor Ice-T, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, also gave an update on Dre’s condition, amid reports that the beloved music mogul suffered paralysis on one side of his body.
“Just talked to the homie @drdre,” the “Law & Order SVU” star wrote on Instagram. “He’s going good and hopefully he’ll be home soon.. But let’s keep him in our prayers for a full recovery.”
There are unconfirmed reports that Dre’s family members suspect “foul play” because Dre worked out in the gym several times a week and was in good health before he fell ill.
One family member suggested Dre was “poisoned” with anticoagulants, a common ingredient in rat poison that causes excessive bleeding, strokes, anemia, and death in rats.
The family member said the rat poison was possibly introduced into his food, beverages, or sprayed in the air at the gym where he worked out.
Dre’s security detail has been increased while he is in the hospital.
Dre authorized $2 million in spousal support to cover Nicole’s expenses through April while he recovers in rehab following his discharge from the hospital.
The court also ordered Nicole to cover her own security expenses until April 14.
