Floyd Mayweather Jr. has assured his female fans that he is still on the market amid reports that he is engaged to Anna Monroe, the “lead dancer” at his strip club.
According to the NY Post, a source said Floyd, 43, and Anna, 29, have set a date to marry, months after he met her dancing at his strip club. The source said they plan to “try for a baby this year.”
Floyd, who craves attention, was reportedly “annoyed” that Anna, who was raised in England, is flaunting a massive engagement ring in posts on social media.
He took to his Instagram on Thursday to shut down the rumors, saying “I have never been engaged or married”.
But a source said the engagement is real, and that “Floyd was annoyed at first that news of their relationship broke because he wanted to keep it private.”
“They had an argument about it but soon made up. And then he decided to pop the question on Saturday. Anna has told family and friends she’s getting married and wants to have a baby with Floyd this year. She hasn’t announced it on social media but everyone could see the huge rock on her hand on her latest Instagram snaps. Her family and friends have had their concerns about the relationship but she’s an adult, it’s her decision and they want her to be happy.”
Anna’s family is reportedly “concerned” about reports that Floyd has a history of violence against women, including his ex Josie Harris, who accused him of domestic violence.
Harris, the mother of three of Floyd’s four kids, was found dead at the wheel of her car in California on March 9 last year after an accidental drug overdose.
Floyd was engaged to Instagram model Shantel Jackson, but the engagement ended in 2013.
