Beyonce paid tribute to a late superfan by sharing an emotional video montage of her hits on social media.
Lyric Chanel lost her two-year battle with brain cancer on Friday, March 5, and Beyonce used her music to pay her respects to the 13-year-old fan, singing beautiful renditions of “Brown Skin Girl”, “Love on Top”, and “Halo.”
“Lyric it’s you/ You’re the one I love/ And you’re the one I need. You’re the only thing I see/ Come on Lyric it’s you/ You’re the one that gives your all/ You’re the one I can always call/ When I need you baby everything stops/ You put my love on top.”
She signed off the video with a short message, saying, “I love you with all my heart.”
The R&B superstar reportedly called and sang to the youngster before she passed away. Bey, 39, previously sent flowers to her teenage superfan back in September, which her family documented on social media.
The teen inspired many on Instagram with her upbeat personality despite her medical condition.
According to theGrio, Lyric often shared videos of herself singing along to her favorite Beyonce songs. Bey herself saw the videos and reached out with heartfelt messages and gifts on multiple occasions.
In October, Beyonce sent Lyric a gift box packed with coveted Ivy Park merchandise from the fall release. TheGrio reported she received the full line of clothing, shoes and accessories.
“Thank you so much @beyonce this couldn’t have come at a better time,” she wrote in the caption to one of the videos. “[I] just got back from the getting Chemo and look at the surprise that was waiting. I love you so much.”
