Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna bonded 30 non-violent inmates out of the Fulton County Jail over the weekend.
The rappers bailed non-violent inmates out of jail to be with their families, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Channel 2’s Michael Seiden caught up with both rappers at Cleveland Avenue Park on Sunday afternoon.
“This is where we are from,” said Young Thug (left). “We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and you know DA’s and the prosecutors, you know, the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out.”
“You never know what somebody been through,” said Gunna (right). “There was people sitting out three or four years and couldn’t get out on a bond. If they did the crime, then they can do the time, then it’s all right. But it’s like you’re giving them a bond higher than what they stole.”
The rappers’ record label, Young Stoner Life (YSL), shared a video showing the moment the inmates were released into the arms of their loved ones.
By coincidence, both rappers recently released the follow-up to their 2018 album Slime Language. The follow-up album features Thug, Gunna, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, and more.
Thugga and Gunna denied their act of benevolence was a stunt to promote their new album.
