Channel 2 Action News Anchor Jovita Moore has revealed she was diagnosed with brain cancer three months after she was diagnosed with two brain tumors.

Doctors determined the tumors were an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma.

There is no cure. Chemotherapy treatments can only slow it down.

Moore gave Channel 2 Action News permission to report her diagnosis on Thursday, July 29.

“Our girl is strong. Our girl is a fighter and she’s doing great every day,” WSB-TV Community and Public Affairs Director Condace Pressley said.

Moore and Pressley have been close friends for more than two decades.

She captioned the image:

“Happy Mother’s Day from my family to yours! [heart emojis]. Thank you all so much for the well wishes, flowers, cards and prays as I continue my recovery at home.”

Moore has said she hopes to return to the anchor desk as soon as she is fully recovered.
