Tiffany Haddish is poised to take over Ellen DeGeneres‘s spot when her daytime TV talk show ends in 2022 after 19 seasons.
The “Girls Trip” star, 40, has frequently filled in for Ellen, 63, who was criticized by former staffers for being mean.
A senior NBCUniversal source told Page Six: “Tiffany is a favorite, she has humor and empathy in spades.
“She’s top of the list to get a daytime show – she’s a fresh voice.”
Apart from her guest hosting gigs, Haddish hosts CBS’s “Kids Say The Darndest Things.”
She also currently stars opposite Billy Crystal in the new movie, “Here Today.”
Former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is also favored to take over Ellen’s 3 pm TV time slot. Kelly’s own talk show airs in most markets after DeGeneres.
