Lynette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, also known as Diamond and Silk, are mourning the loss of their mother, Betty Willis Hardaway.

The conservative activists announced their mother’s death on Twitter.com on Monday, June 28. The sisters did not disclose a cause of death.

“On this morning, we lost the best mother ever. She was our best friend & we love her so much. She was the matriarch of our family and this morning we lost our queen but heaven gained a beautiful Angel. She will truly be missed. Please keep the Hardaway family lifted up in prayer.”

Diamond and Silk became overnight sensations when their YouTube channel received media attention for their loyal support of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Their social media pages were censored in 2016 and again in April 2018 when they publicly complained that Facebook blocked and censored their Facebook page. Twitter also temporarily banned their page.

Richardson and Hardaway were raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina by their parents Freeman Hardaway and Betty Willis Hardaway.

To make ends meet, Freeman and Betty sold weight loss cures, bibles and wreaths that ward off witchcraft.

Betty wrote the name of her customers in the Bibles, telling customers that the Bible would make God answer their prayers.
