The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star shared her concerns about the missing fireflies and butterflies with her 7.4 million followers.
“I have a question… Where the f— are all the lightning bugs? Where the lightning bugs go? Where the butterflies? I can’t tell the last time I saw a butterfly.”
Tammy’s followers share her concern. One Instagram user wrote: “That’s the real pandemic.”
“My mom and I was just talking about lightning bugs,” another user wrote.
And a third IG user wrote: “The city I work in is called the butterfly capital of the world and still NO BUTTERFLIES!”
Scientists blame climate change for the decrease in the bumblebee population over the years.
Apparently, climate change has had no effect on fireflies.
There are still more than 2,000 fireflies in the world. They prefer humid regions and forests where there are few people.
If you live near Congaree National Park in South Carolina, the fireflies put on a synchronized display that light up the night.
Fireflies prefer rural areas, nature preserves, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. They avoid densely populated ares such as Atlanta, where guns outnumber them.
