A Las Vegas man was arrested and charged after he was captured on Ring doorbell camera politely threatening to rape and kill a woman inside her home.
Amanda Nowak was at home alone Wednesday evening when a bearded man knocked on her door and said, “I just have a couple of questions for you.”
The Ring video shows the man repeatedly knocking on her door and asking, “Are you sure? Are you positive? Are you absolutely sure,” when she declined to open the door.
He eventually walked away but he returned when Nowak’s husband, who was not at home, spoke remotely through the Ring intercom.
The suspect politely said, “What I’m looking for is the girl in the house ’cause I’m going to rape her and kill her. Can you have her open the door?”
He added he had a gun and knife.
Nowak called 911 and police arrived moments later, but the suspect had left the scene.
A viewer who saw the report recognized the man and alerted a nearby deputy city marshal, FOX5 reported.
“HE IS IN CUSTODY!” Nowak wrote on Facebook the next day.
The suspect was charged with stalking, coercion and obstructing an officer. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center as “John Doe.”
Police said Nowak did the right thing by not opening the door.
