Kandi recalls writing in her diary and praying every day for her R&B group, Xscape, to get a hit record before high school graduation.
Her prayers were answered when the group got their first big hit with their debut single “Just Kickin’ It” in 1993.
She says one of her worst days was when her diary was stolen (probably by an Xscape member) while the group was on tour.
The diary contained her darkest and most sinful secrets. Kandi was accused of bed-hopping with a plethora of music producers.
To this day she says the stolen diary is still a sensitive topic.
“I don’t want to talk about it. It was a very bad day,” she told Hello Beautiful.
