Lizzo was shocked by the backlash she might receive after she slid into a sparkly, see-through dress to attend Cardi B’s 29th birthday party in L.A. last weekend.
The thin, gauzy fabric left nothing to the imagination. Lizzo tried to maintain her dignity by wearing a thong and pasties underneath the dress.
However, it wasn’t enough.
Outraged parents lit up the comments on her social media pages, dragging the 33-year-old for her bold style and lack of humility.
The “Truth Hurts” singer was stunned by the fierce public backlash.
She addressed her critics in an Instagram Live video, explaining that she left the party early because she has social anxiety — not because of the disapproving stares from partygoers.
“It’s very funny to me that people are upset that I’m wearing a see-through outfit or that I’m twerking in a see-through outfit,” she said on Thursday.
“[They’re saying], ‘This is disgusting… Don’t you have bills to pay? Don’t you got mouths to feed, including your own? Don’t you have a life to live? Don’t you want to fall in love and make friends?’ Don’t you got s—to do?
“Go read the news, b*tch, before I read you, ho*. The f—k! Why are you worried about me?
She concluded her dramatic statement by reminding her critics of a time not long ago when people minded their own business and wore whatever they wanted.
“Kiss my a**. Kiss my fat black a**, b*tch.”
