Sidney Starr appeared on a segment of The Real to discuss a viral video that showed the male-to-female trans influencer booed up with Family Matters actor Darius McCrary.

Sidney was vague and talking in circles about their relationship. Sidney said the impact of the viral video really hit them hard.

“It hit us really hard. I don’t think neither I or Darius knew how hard that was gonna hit. And, I mean, as you could see, society was not ready for this at all.”

“‘This’ meaning what?” said Jeannie Mai-Jenkins. “I wanna know about you and Darius. Were you guys dating?”

Sidney responded:

“We are friends. He’s a very good friend of mine. That’s all I’ma say. He’s fun to hang out with. As you could see I’m a fun girl to hang out with… Anybody would wanna be Sidney Starr’s friend.”

Then co-host Loni Love got serious with Sidney about “issues with the transgender community and with dating and the perceptions that people have.”

Sidney insisted that straight, heterosexual males can hang out with transgenders and not be considered down-low homosexuals.

“All we wanted to do was just kinda show you all like… this is okay… Girls, look at me. It’s not like I look like Arnold Schwarzenegger with a wig on!”
