Boston, MA – November 24: Monica Cannon-Grant leaves the Federal Courthouse after she was arrested and indicted in Boston on March 15, 2022. On Tuesday, the prominent community organizer who has emerged as a leader in the Black Lives Matter movement was arrested at her Taunton home on charges she and her husband raised more than $1 million in grants and donations for people in need, but took a substantial amount of it for themselves. Some of it was also used to pay rent on their Boston apartment and buy a car for a relative, prosecutors said.

CREDIT:
John Tlumacki/The Boston Globe via Getty Images
