LINE of Duty actress Thandiwe Newton has been axed from forthcoming blockbuster Magic Mike’s Last Dance after a busy-up with leading man Channing Tatum.
Insiders say the shocking row was sparked by a dispute over Will Smith’s controversial Oscars slap, but the heated debate escalated to “astonishing” levels according to a crew member.
The two actors rowed to the point where executives has to intervene – removing furious Thandiwe from the film and deciding to re-cast her role – leaving 11 days of completed filmmaking totally wasted and needing a reshoot.
Thandiwe is now said to be planning to sue studio chiefs at Warner Bros over racism, but sources insist her position became “untenable” after the bust-up became “unimaginably vicious”.
“They fell out over the debacle at The Oscars. I was on set. I watched her and watched him. They were in and out of the house where we were filming having this confrontation.
