Someone on TikTok used artificial intelligence (AI) to generate songs that sound like Kanye West singing country music.

The TikTok account, called @kanyewesternai contains clips of the rapper’s voice singing popular country music songs.

One writer noted:

“I mean seriously, if you get on a good AI generator, you could have Big Bird from Sesame Street singing ‘WAP’ by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion and immediately have your childhood ruined.”

Last month, Jay Z’s longtime studio engineer Young Guru raised the alarm after someone leaked an artificial intelligence-generated song that sounds like Jay Z rapping a verse (swipe right to listen).

Guru, real name Gimel Keaton, warned that AI could be used to rip off artists who won’t get paid for the use of their AI-generated vocals.

With AI, anyone can record a song using an artist’s voice and sell it as an original song.

Guru, 9th Wonder and DJ Clark Kent are calling for the government to step in and protect the rights of the artists.

“I’ve been trying to tell everyone that this is where we are now with AI,” Guru said on his Instagram page on Friday, March 31.

“On one hand I’m well aware that you can’t stop technology. Once the genie is out of the box you can put him back in. On the other hand we have to protect the rights of the artist. Not only artist but everyone in society. People should not be able to take your Name, Image and Likeness without permission. We have to add the voice to this law.”

He continued:

“We have to learn from past mistakes. You would be a fool to chase every person that is going to do this. We learned that lesson with Napster. The only way I see to deal with it is to change the law. There are so many different opinions. We could change the United States law tomorrow but the internet is world wide. What a time we live in!!”
