Angel Reese gifted herself a new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 for her 21st birthday.
The 6-foot-3 LSU basketball star, who turns 21 on May 6, posted photos of her brand new purchase on Instagram.
She captioned the photo gallery:
“BIG BODY BENZ BARBIE! Why not get a new car when it’s your 21st birthday week??? Thank you @mercedesbenzbatonrouge for helping me purchase my NEW CAR!! I wouldn’t be the BAYOU BARBIE without @matchpconnect @bayoutraditions#BAYOUBARBIETURNS21 #GODDID.”
Thanks to lucrative Nil deals (name, image and likeness), Angel is a millionaire while still in college.
Angel’s $1.4 million NIL deals include Amazon, Xfinity, Outback Steakhouse, Wingstop and supermarket chain Giant Food.
When she signed an NIL deal with Coach in February, she gave Coach handbags to her LSU teammates.
Angel transferred from the University of Maryland to LSU in 2022. She helped the LSU Tigers win their first NCAA title in April. She was named the Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Angel is so popular on campus that she needs bodyguards to attend class or to the grocery store.
A source confirmed Reese’s security detail and told The Daily Advertiser that LSU President William Tate assigned security for Angel after she criticized first lady Jill Biden for inviting NCAA Tournament runner-ups Iowa to the White House along with LSU.
Angel is still frustrated by the lack of respect for the Lady Tigers’ accomplishments.
“I mean, 9.9 million people watched the game. That’s more than the men,” she told Jennifer Hudson. “I know one day we’re going down in the history books, so it’s bigger than me.”
