Update: A Connecticut father pulled his four children out of the Granby School District after teachers at Wells Road Intermediate School showed students a Pride Month film.

Kyle Reyes said the teachers played an “educational” video titled “Pride to Me.” He said the teachers did not ask for permission from parents.

In the video, children explain what “Pride” means to them.

A boy named Jasper who uses “They/Them” pronouns said, “I have dolls. I love my dolls. Boys can play with dolls, too.”

Another child named Mavis said, “I have two moms. I call them ‘Mommy’ and ‘Mama.’ What Pride means to me is just being myself and standing up for what I believe in.”

“Pride means you should be able to be free,” said Simon who prefers “He/They” pronouns. “All my life, I never felt like a boy, and I don’t really feel like a girl, so I’d rather be both.”

Reyes said the video was shown to students in 3rd to 5th grades (ages 8 to 10).

“I watched the video and I was alarmed,” Reyes said. “Children used in the video seemed to be selling and even recruiting fellow students to join the pride and transgender movement.”

He said some students were sent home with “puberty kits.”

“One parent claimed her son was given a kit filled with pantiliners and maxi pads,” he added.

“Teachers and school administrators have not only crossed the line, they’ve erased it.”

A similar incident at a high school in California sparked outrage among parents after a teacher threatened high school students who laughed at two women kissing in a Pride Month video.

The video was shared on Twitter by filmmaker Rob Starbuck. He said some 10th grade students told him that the Pride Month video was shown to all students in every class at Edison High School in Huntington Beach.

Cellphone video shows students in one math class laughing, jeering, and making gagging noises as they watched the video. The laughter builds as two women kiss on the screen.

A math teacher threatened the students with detention and Saturday classes if they continued to behave inappropriately.

The video was viewed over 10 million times as of Tuesday morning.

Many Twitter users called for the math teacher to be fired. But others defended her, saying she was probably forced to show the video by the school board.

President Biden has prioritized the rights of transgender and gay students under his administration.

At a recent Pride Month event, Biden vowed to protect transgender students by expanding Title IX to include them. The move reverses a Trump-era policy.
