Billy Porter gets all his vital measurements taken as he announces he is being honored with a figure at Madame Tussauds.
The multi-talented award-winning actor, singer, director, composer and playwright revealed on his social media he is going to be immortalized with a figure at Madame Tussauds New York in Times Square.
And to make sure the figure captures Billy.s trademark fabulous style, he sat down with a team of artists who will set out to create his exact likeness in wax.
A team of 20 studio artists will spend about six months working on the figure in London before it is unveiled in New York, and now have all Billy.s measurements and essential details like skin tone and eye color to make sure they get it just right.
The figure will wear a recreation of one of Billy.s most memorable looks – a Scott Studenberg-designed turquoise jacket and jumpsuit, and a wide-brimmed hat with a motorized screen of crystalline fringe from the 2020 Grammy awards, styled by Sam Ratelle
Billy said: .I am humbly honored to be receiving my very own wax figure at Madame Tussauds. It.s been a pleasure to work with the artists to make this dream come true and I can.t wait to see my twin in New York!.
Billy made history as the first openly gay, black man to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for his role as Pray Tell in FX.s musical drama Pose.
He has also wowed fans as the Fairy Godmother in Amazon.s remake of Cinderella.
