Gayle King and Charles Barkley’s new primetime show “King Charles” is off to a rocky start, according to Eurweb.com.

The talk show premiered on November 29 on CNN. “This is our unfiltered take on the biggest story of the day,” Gayle said in a promo video last month.

According to RadarOnline, the talk show “King Charles” premiered to fewer than 500,000 viewers, the lowest audience of any new CNN program this year.

“‘King Charles’ is different than anything we have on CNN’s lineup,” said Amy Entelis, CNN’s executive vice president for talent and content development.

“It’s not a newscast, but rather a talk show centered around the news stories and cultural moments that Gayle and Charles are most interested in,” Entelis said in an email to reporters.

Gayle and Charles have been friends for years, but there are rumors of tension behind the scenes.

Insiders told the National Enquirer that Gayle expects Charles to remain tight-lipped about the behind the scenes drama. Gayle is not interested in petty gossip, but Charles is a gossip queen.

As Radar reports, the tea spiller said, “There’s still some apprehension because she knows how Charles loves to gab and name-drop about his famous friends.”

The source added, “He’s been doing it for years, bragging about his associations with Michael Jordan and others. It may seem harmless enough on the surface — but for Gayle, it’s a time bomb waiting to happen!”
