Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
According to CBS Sports, Ja injured his right shoulder during team practice on Saturday.
A subsequent MRI scan revealed a tear of the labrum, where the biceps tendon attaches to the bone.
The star guard will undergo surgery to repair the tear.
Morant missed the first 25 games of the season due to a suspension for waving a gun in a video on social media.
Memphis was 6-3 in the nine games since Morant returned to the team.
He missed Sunday’s win against the Phoenix Suns. He sat on the bench with his right arm in a sling.
Morant, 24, signed a $193 million rookie extension contract with the Grizzlies in 2022.
