Kiearia Jones had dreams of becoming a successful TikTok influencer when she moved with her children from Tallahassee, Florida to Houston, Texas.

Jones moved to Houston with her sons at the start of the New Year. But instead of becoming an influencer, she is now homeless.

Jones told KHOU-11 News that her goal was to become an influencer to support her three sons.

“Houston has one of the biggest populations of social media influencers,” Jones told KHOU-11. “That’s kind of my goal — to become a big influencer.”

Jones said the family moved into a motel but she ran out of money and they were kicked out on the street.

With nowhere to go and the temperature plummeting, Jones called 911. Police officers took them to a warming shelter on the last night the shelter would be open.

“I did not know that they were closing down tomorrow,” Jones said. “That was definitely a lot to hear.”

Jones said she was trying to figure out how to get back to Florida.

YouTube commenters wondered why she didn’t ask for help from the children’s father.

One person wrote: “She moved to be a social media influencer, don’t people do that from home and don’t reveal where they live? That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
She wants to influence people to do what?”

Another person wrote: “Came to Houston with a dream and no plan. That’s a recipe for disaster.”

A third person wrote: “GET A JOB AND SUPPORT YOUR CHILDREN and stop expecting other people to support you and your kids.”
