Jennifer Lopez (right) says Emmy winner Ayo Edibiri apologized with tears in her eyes after calling Lopez a “scam.”

Edibiri made the comment on a podcast in 2020 before she found fame in the comedy series The Bear.

“I appreciate a good scam,” said Edebiri in 2020. “Today, I was actually thinking about one of my favorite scams of all time, because J-Lo is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.”

Edibiri landed the role of chef Sydney in The Bear in 2022. Since then, she has won a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.

The actress was horrified to see her old quote about Lopez resurface before she appeared on SNL with Lopez.

The quote was mentioned on SNL that same night.

Lopez told Variety that Edibiri showed up at her dressing room door crying and apologizing.

“She was mortified and very sweet,” says Lopez. “She came to my dressing room and apologized with tears in her eyes… She was just like, ‘I’m so f**king sorry, it was so awful of me.'”

Lopez said. “It’s funny. I’ve heard similar things said about me throughout my career, so it really didn’t affect me.”

Edibiri learned a hard lesson that night. Always scrub your Internet presence after you become a star.

There are companies that specialize in scrubbing the Internet and making things disappear that could embarrass you later.

Lopez, 54, got her start as a Fly Girl dancer on the comedy television series “In Living Color” in 1991.

The series was her launching pad to success in Hollywood. She landed the role of Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in the movie Selena in 1997.

Lopez began dating music producer and record label owner Sean “Puffy” Combs in the late 1990s.

But she became a household name when she wore a green Versace silk chiffon dress to the Grammy Awards in 2000.

Pictures of Lopez in the dress became the most popular search query in Google’s history, leading to the creation of Google Images.
