Mo’Nique and her husband, Sidney Hicks, responded to her estranged son Shalon Jackson’s TikTok video in which he called her a liar.
Shalon responded to his mom’s viral interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.

Mo’Nique told Shannon she prayed for a reconciliation with her son.
But Shalon said he is not open to reuniting with his mother.
Mo’Nique addressed her son’s comments in a livestream video on Tuesday.
“This is what I’ll say, let’s let it play out. Because the same ones that said to me I was crazy, I was deranged, we watched it play out.”
Mo’Nique continued: “So, just like with my son, we’ll watch this play out.”
Then Mo’Nique addressed Shalon directly for disrespecting her husband.
“When you say ‘Her daddy, her daddy,’ then that’s when mommy gon’ say stop playing. Because you know this has been ‘Uncle Sid’ your whole life. Uncle Sid knew you before you knew you.”
Mo’Nique and Sidney share three sons. She explained why Sidney doesn’t claim Shalon as one of his sons: “Because he’s always been Uncle Sid. And he knows your daddy very well.”
Sidney added: “And love that brotha. And the irony of all of this is, not what is said, but what’s left off.”
“Yes,” Mo’Nique said, while nodding her head.
Sidney continued: “See, you’re leaving off the fact that, the last time we laid eyes on you, your mother got you everything you needed for the newborn baby about three years ago.”
Sidney said that he and Mo’Nique gave Shalon half of the down payment for a new car.
“And I’m negotiating for you with the dealer as you sit there. You have the vehicle you’re driving right now because of your mother. These are the things that you’re leaving out when you’re expressing what you’re expressing in reference to your mother.”
Sidney implied that Shalon is ungrateful and that money is the source of Shalon’s anger toward his mother.
Shalon is Mo’Nique’s son by her second husband, Mark Jackson.
Sidney said that he and Mo’Nique have “a loving relationship” with Mark, “and communicate back and forth because of the love we have for you.”

In a previous interview on David Banner’s podcast, Mo’Nique admitted she put her career above her own child.
“There was a time that when he was a little boy, I wasn’t interested in being a mother,” she said.
“I was interested in being a star and I was interested in being famous. And I wasn’t interested in being a wife. I was interested in taking pictures and red carpets, and signing autographs, and traveling the world, so I really didn’t put the focus in.”
When Shannon asked about Mo’Nique’s current relationship with Shalon, she said, “We’re still very much separated.”
“And it’s one of those things where you have to pray to the universe and say, ‘Let time do the healing,'” she added.
According to RhymeswithSnitch, Shalon responded to his mother’s comments in a TikTok video.
“My mother and I both know that is a very false narrative. And I would like to free her of having to continue telling that lie,” he said.
“Faith without work is dead. And neither one of us cares to put forth any effort to reconcile with the other. We are separate – as she put it – because she doesn’t care to be my mother any more than I care to be her son.”
Shalon said fame and money aren’t worth more than your children.
“I do appreciate my mother for showing me what the top of the mountain looks like,” he explained.
“It gave me a perspective on what hard work and dedication can get you. But I don’t want something like that at the cost of giving up something that I created.”
