The adult film industry is mourning the loss of another adult film star.
Police found Sophia Leone “unresponsive” in her New Mexico apartment on March 1.
The Miami-born actress was pronounced dead at a local hospital. She was 26.
Police initially suspected a drug overdose. But a modeling agency claims her death is being investigated as a “robbery and homicide.”
“To be clear, Sophia[‘s] death is being investigated as a robbery and homicide. We’re going to take time off social media because this is difficult,” 101 Modeling wrote on Twitter/X Saturday.
“But we do appreciate seeing the stories from people who knew her. We all agree she was a sweetheart, kind, and gentle. We all love her,” the agency wrote.
There are no suspects.
A GoFundMe page launched by Leone’s stepfather on behalf of the family has met its $12,000 goal as of Sunday.
“The Sudden loss of Sophia has left her family and Friends devastated and in Shock, on top of The difficult process of grieving and Seeking Justice for Sophia the family is also facing the Financial burden that they were not prepared for,” her stepdad Mike Romero wrote.
In her last social media message, Leone advised her 300,000 Instagram followers to “Go outside and just appreciate life a little extra today.”
Leone starred in more than 80 adult films since 2014, the New York Post reported.
She is the third adult film star to pass away in the past three months.
Adult film star Emily Willis is in an ICU on life support following a drug overdose.
