LeBron James ended a long friendship with Sean “Puffy” Combs by unfollowing him on Instagram and X/Twitter.
The L.A. Lakers superstar unfollowed Combs a day after CNN aired video that showed Combs kicking and stomping his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
The incident happened at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California in 2016. It shows Combs wearing only a towel around his waist and socks while he chased Cassie. He caught up to her at the elevators and threw her to the floor. He then kicked and stomped her while she lay motionless on the floor.
James has known Combs since his 2003 rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Sources say James carefully cultivates his social media presence and is picky about who he follows. The news of James unfollowing Combs quickly went viral over the weekend.
James and his wife, Savannah, were guests at Combs’ 49th birthday party in West Hollywood in 2018.
After Cassie filed a $30 million lawsuit in November 2023, a video resurfaced that showed LeBron James saying, “there’s no party like a Diddy party.”
Boxer Ryan Garcia took to social media to ask James to explain why he was present at Combs’ freak off parties.
“Yo wtf Lebron you good?” Garcia wrote on X/Twitter.
