Late rapper Pop Smoke’s alleged killer, King Vermont Raskel, was released from a juvenile detention center over the weekend. Images of the young man celebrating on social media sparked anger among Pop Smoke’s fans.

The 21-year-old celebrated his release from prison by telling his opps: “Come take a shot.”

Raskel issued a threat to his own opps just days after aspiring rapper Julio Foolio was ambushed and killed outside a Holiday Inn in Florida.

Raskel was only 16 when Pop Smoke was gunned down by Raskel’s crew at a party at his Airbnb in Los Angeles in 2020.

Raskel who goes by the username @Vblockstarrr3 on Instagram, re-posted the news of his release and advised reporters to contact his manager for interviews.

“For everybody who keeps texting me about an interview,” Raskel wrote.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man charged in the shooting admitted to killing the rapper in juvenile court Friday.

According to Rolling Stone, the trial for the remaining defendants was delayed after plea negotiations fell through.

The trial for Corey Walker previously was scheduled to start next week.

“The defendant, who was 15 at the time of the crime, admitted to a juvenile court petition charging him with first-degree murder in the Feb. 19, 2020, death of Pop Smoke, whose real name was Bashar Jackson. He also admitted to home-invasion robbery and allegations that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm during the crime.” source
