WNBA star Brittney Griner corrected a journalist who called her a new “mom” after the birth of her son.

Prior to the WNBA All-Star game at the Footprint Center, the Phoenix Mercury star announced her life partner, Cherelle, welcomed a boy.

When Anchor Terrika Foster-Brasby said she was about to be a mom, Brittney quickly corrected her and stated she is the “Pops” of the newborn.

“I’m super excited. I guess I’ll just drop that he’s here. So, he’s here,” Brittney said. “That’s my man. He is amazing,” she added. “They said as soon as you see them, everything that you thought mattered just goes out the window. That’s literally what happened.”

Brittney said she regrets leaving the newborn to head to Paris with Team USA, who lost to the WNBA All-Stars 117-109 on Saturday.

“It kind of sucks because I have to leave, but at the same time, he will understand,” she said.

Brittney, 33, previously welcomed twin girls with her ex, former WNBA player Glory Johnson, but she doesn’t publicly acknowledge the girls.

The 10-time WNBA All-Star asked the court to deny financial support for Glory and the twins, but an Arizona judge ordered her to pay $2,516.97 in child support, according to ESPN.

Glory requested $20,000 a month in temporary spousal support, but that request was denied.
