No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark and No. 7 pick Angel Reese set aside their bitter rivalry to take on the USA Women’s National Team in the 2024 WNBA All-Star game on Saturday.

Caitlin, and Angel, both 22, are the first rookie duo to play in the All-Star game since 2014. The All-Star game tips off tonight at 8:30 PM EST at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Caitlin and Angel’s teammates include Aliyah Boston, Arike Ogunbowale, Allisha Gray, Dearica Hamby, and Kelsey Mitchell.

The USA Women’s National Team includes Brittney Griner, Sabrina Ionescu, Diana Taurasi, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, and A’Ja Wilson.

Angel and Arike won a half-court shooting contest on Friday.

Women’s basketball icon Cheryl Miller is coaching the All-Star team. Miller commented on Caitlin and Angel’s bitter rivalry.

“I’ve been able to step back and watch from afar,” Miller said at practice on Friday. “I love and appreciate the rivalry. I love what they’ve done for the women’s game at the collegiate level to now. It’s working. It was only a matter of time. Great narratives, great storylines.”

Meanwhile, Atlanta Dream star Allisha Gray became the first WNBA player to win the 3-point contest and the skills challenge in the same night.

Allisha won $5,150 from the WNBA and $110,000 from Aflac. Allisha’s annual salary is $185,000.

The WNBA All-Star game airs on Saturday, July 20 at 8:30 PM EST on ABC.
