A former military sniper says the Secret Service detail for former President Trump didn’t expect a gunman to miss Trump at a rally on Saturday.

A 20-year-old loner attempted to assassinate Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

A Secret Service sniper killed the gunman after he fired several rounds at Trump. A bullet grazed Trump’s right ear.

Sniper Nicholas Irving, who provided security for then-Vice President Joe Biden, told VladTV he thought the shooting was “AI”.

“I’m thinking, it’s almost like… that’s not the way it was supposed to go down,” Irving said. “It was kind of like a shock that this guy missed that shot that close.

Irving suggested the Secret Service agents weren’t well-trained. He was shocked when the agents asked each other what to do. They seemed confused. One female agent didn’t know how to holster her gun.

“That’s what we train for,” Irving said. “You have Secret Service agents who can’t holster their pistols. And why are you holstering your pistol when you’ve encountered a threat such as an assassination attempt?”

Irving said the rooftops around the rally should have been secured the day before the rally.

He also said the Secret Service snipers’ reaction to the shooter did not make sense.

It was later reported that Secret Service snipers and local police were ordered to wait until after the gunman took the first shot at Trump.

A source within the Secret Service tells RealClearPolitics that protocol is to wait until the president is fired upon to return fire. By “president”, they mean Biden.

Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle has refused calls to resign from the Secret Service.
