Judge Paige Reese Whitaker, who replaced Judge Ural Glanville in the YSL RICO case, has ruled on rapper Young Thug’s request for bond.
Another judge removed Judge Glanville from the case earlier this month.

Young Thug and five of his co-defendants immediately requested bond for the duration of Georgia’s longest ever trial.
The trial began with jury selection in January 2023. Young Thug has been in jail since his arrest in May 2022.
However, Judge Whitaker said she is not considering bond for any of the defendants. according to AJC.com. The defendants will remain in jail while the trial continues.
“I’m not going to reconsider any bond issues that have already been considered and ruled upon by another court absent legitimate changed circumstances,” Whitaker told defense attorneys on Tuesday.
Whitaker continued: “It is unfortunate that this case has lasted as long as it has. It is unfortunate that there have been delays in this case, but those do not, in this court’s mind, amount to the claim of changed circumstances that make it appropriate to reconsider bond.”
Thugger’s attorney Brian Steele requested bond due to Young Thug’s mental status. The rapper, born Jeffery Williams, was hospitalized twice due to stress and malnutrition while in jail.
Young Thug, 32, is accused of being the co-founder and leader of the street gang Young Slime Life.
The Fulton County prosecutor’s office alleges YSL is a criminal organization in south Atlanta. However, Williams’ attorneys say Young Thug is a respected businessman and YSL is a record label.
