Roland Martin talks a lot of trash on social media. But he’s as soft as the Michelin man when confronted in public.

The 55-year-old journalist is a credentialed reporter at the Democratic National Convention which kicked off today in Chicago.

Former Chicago mayoral candidate Ja’Mal Green confronted Martin at a DNC event held over the weekend.

When Martin saw Green, the terrified reporter cut and ran. Green accused Martin of hiding behind a woman.

Security was called to escort Martin to safety.

Green was upset that Martin called him “dumb” when he questioned Kamala Harris’ plan to pay $25,000 in downpayment assistance to first generation homebuyers.

“Does anybody want to tell me what “first generation” is code for? Lol,” Green wrote on X.com.

Martin responded to Green’s post, saying, “Are you that dumb Ja’mal Green? If Black folks have the lowest homeownership rates, that means incentives for first time buyers will appeal to Black folks. Are you that clueless?”

“I’m a grown man with 3 kids, ain’t no man gone come after me unprovoked and not get checked,” Green wrote on Instagram.

Green referred to Martin as “the Democrats’ paid provocateur who be buck dancing for the party and disrespecting young people like we won’t pull up!”

Green said Martin “escalated” the situation by “telling me to hold on and run from me. I was respectful and wanted to talk about why he doing shows about me and calling me names on Twitter.”

“Roland Martin attacked me and I approached him like a man. Period,” Green captioned his Instagram post.

Martin is a former host and CNN contributor who was suspended and then let go by CNN for reportedly encouraging violence against gay men.

Martin went awf and threatened legal action when your auntie questioned his sexuality many years ago.
