Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s daughter Blue Ivy Carter turned 13 years old on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The Capricorn was nominated for an NAACP Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance in a Motion Picture for her role as Kiara in Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King.
Blue Ivy voiced the character Kiara, the daughter of Queen Nala and King Simba. Beyoncé reprised her role as Nala, and Donald Glover returned as Simba in the film.
Blue previously won an NAACP Award for her vocal contributions to “Brown Skin Girl,” Beyoncé’s track from 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift.
Blue Ivy is one of the most famous teenagers on the planet. She made her dance debut in her mom’s “Renaissance World Tour.”
Beyoncé nearly broke the Internet when she announced her pregnancy with Blue Ivy on the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z dedicated his song “Glory” to his daughter two days after her birth.
Blue Ivy won a Grammy Award for Best Music Video for her contribution to her mother’s “Brown Skin Girl” music video.
