La La Anthony and her son Kiyan Anthony were the subjects of discussion on mother and son relationships over the weekend.
La La and Kiyan went viral when someone uploaded video of them at his championship game in East Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday.

Kiyan and his high school, Long Island Lutheran, won The Throne National Championship and he was named the tournament MVP. Kiyan scored 25 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the championship game.

The 18-year-old basketball star has committed to play for his dad’s alma mater Syracuse University in the fall.
Kiyan and the SU men’s basketball team will practice daily at the high tech Carmelo K. Anthony Center, funded by his dad.
Both of Kiyan’s famous parents attended his championship game on Saturday

Kiyan and his proud mom La La, 42, are pictured together at the 2017 BET Awards in Los Angeles. She congratulated her son and posed for photos with him after he won the MVP trophy.
But Kiyan seemed unimpressed with all the fanfare. In the video, he is seen handing his mom the trophy and tossing his jacket on her as if she was a coat rack.

The video sparked debates on social media between fans who believed Kiyan was being disrespectful to his mom.
One person wrote: “Syracuse alumni here. I hope he can play better than he think he is. He didn’t even make the McDonalds All American game.”

Another person wrote: “That’s how I used to do my mama when I used to hoop.”
