Neo-soul singer Erykah Badu made a bold statement on women’s obsession with BBLs.

The 54-year-old R&B icon put the BBL culture on blast with a shocking outfit at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Videos show Erykah wobbling on stage wearing an exaggerated BBL (Brazilian Butt lift) outfit.

The Billboard Women in Music Awards was hosted by Laverne Cox.
Singer Summer Walker presented Erykah with the Music Icon Award. Erykah was the doula who delivered Summer’s twin sons in December 2022.

Tina Knowles was named Mother of the Year at the awards show.

“She’s been my fave artist since I was 12,” Summer Walker said, before introducing a video that captured the influence Badu has had on so many others.

“As an artist,” Erykah said, “I never thought it was my job to be [limited] to any one category.”
The 5X Grammy winner was named People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1998. She released her debut album, Baduizm, on February 11, 1997.
The album spawned the hits “On & On”, “Appletree”, “Otherside of the Game”, and “Next Lifetime.”
The album won Grammy Awards for Best R&B Album and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “On & On.”
