Last week it was reported that “Beyond the Gates” original cast member Maurice Johnson departed the show and was replaced by actor Keith D. Robinson.
Maurice’s departure was the CBS soap opera‘s first casting shakeup.
Maurice played Dr. Ted Richardson, a plastic surgeon whose world was about to be turned upside down by his secret daughter and his scorned baby mama.

But Deadline.com reported that Maurice was out and Keith is taking his place.
The news hit Maurice’s fans hard. They took to his X (Twitter) page to ask if the news was true.

Maurice assured his fans that he is still on the show for the time being. CBS will air episodes that were previously taped before he was let go.
“I’ll be back on your screen on Thursday!” he wrote before thanking fans for “blowing the Internet up” over his sudden departure.
Maurice wrote: “Sorry #BeyondTheGates fans. You’ll have about 30+ more episodes to see if Dr. Ted ever goes shirtless … I’ll be back on your screen on Thursday! Thanks for the love and blowing the internet up over the weekend about ya boy!”

Someone in Maurice’s camp DM’d me on Monday to deny rumors that he was let go due to his acting skill. They also denied a report that he didn’t get along with his co-star Daphnée Duplaix, who plays his wife Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson.
First of all, Sandrarose.com does not report false information. I report information that is sourced from other blogs or from credible insiders.
Secondly, this is a gossip blog. Information posted here is considered to be true and newsworthy.
A cast member leaving the first Black soap opera in more than 30 years is newsworthy.
