Grizzlies star Ja Morant is catching heat for his latest 3-point celebration during an NBA game.

Morant, 25, appeared to chuck a live grenade into the crowd after scoring a three-pointer against the Hornets at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC on Tuesday night.

A Grizzlies announcer was confused by Morant’s gesture toward the crowd. “I gotta figure out what that celebration is,” the announcer said.

A video clip shows Morant hitting a three-pointer late in the second quarter. He motions as if he’s pulling the pin out of a grenade with his teeth before making a throwing motion toward the crowd. He then covers his ears with his hands.

Video clips of his three-point celebration went viral on Tuesday night.

Memphis went on to defeat the Hornets 124-100 with Morant scoring a game-high 28 points.

Morant was recently fined $75,000 for making finger gun gestures during 2 NBA games.

The league fined him for “twice making an inappropriate gesture on the playing court” in games against the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat.

The NBA suspended Morant twice in 2023 after he flashed a gun on Instagram Live.

So far, NBA officials have not commented on his latest celebration.
