It’s official: Taylor Swift has accepted an offer to play Whitney Houston’s role in “The Bodyguard” 2025 remake.
Warner Bros. is in talks with bold names, including Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck and Tom Cruise, to take on the role originally played by Kevin Costner, 70, in the 1992 romantic thriller.

According to Radar Online, pop superstar Taylor Swift, 35, is “in negotiations” to play singer Rachel Marron in the role made famous by Whitney.
A source told The Daily Mail: “The deal is almost done.”
The Bodyguard earned $411 million at the box office in 1992 and the movie soundtrack won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
The plot centered around Costner’s former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer, who takes a gig as a bodyguard to protect famous R&B star Rachel Marron.
Rachel is being stalked by a deranged fan who makes his move after she wins the Best Picture Academy Award.

Sam Wrench, who directed Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, is set to direct the movie remake.
The original movie was nominated for 2 Oscars for its songs and the soundtrack became the best-selling soundtrack of all time with over 50 million copies sold.

Taylor Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties,” are anxious to hear their idol sing Whitney’s hit songs “Run to You”, “I Will Always Love You”, and “I’m Every Woman” on the movie soundtrack.

But Whitney’s fans object to Taylor Swift stepping into Whitney’s shoes.
One person wrote on Sandrarose.com: “Who asked for this?”
Another person wrote: “Oh Lord, please No. In the words of Whitney Houston, Hell to the Naw!”
