Attorney Tony Buzbee declined to represent Moriah Mills in a possible lawsuit against NBA star Zion Williamson. The TikTok influencer contacted Buzbee about filing her own lawsuit after a woman sued Williamson for rape last week.
In a statement on Tuesday, Buzbee said, “A member of our staff spoke to [Mills]. After review we declined to take her case.”
“We can’t comment about the details or merits of her claims,” Buzbee continued. “As you know we are contacted by numerous people across the United States daily with grievances. We can’t help them all. Some of those we do take are resolved quietly. A number are filed and litigated, like the $640 million jury verdict we achieved a few weeks back. Only a small few become public.”
Buzbee’s rejection is not an indication that Mills doesn’t have a valid case against the New Orleans Pelicans star.

Mills, 34, shared a heartbreaking message to Williamson’s other alleged “victims” in a video on Saturday. The video was viewed over 1.6 million times on TikTok.

Buzbee recently represented a woman who accused rap moguls Sean Combs and Jay-Z of assaulting her when she was only 13. But a judge dismissed the woman’s case due to many inconsistencies in her story.
Jay-Z filed a countersuit against Buzbee, accusing him of extortion and ruining his reputation. Jay-Z claims he was denied a $115 million loan due to the rape accuser’s lawsuit.
Buzbee’s application for admission to practice law in the Southern District of New York was rejected in February 2025.
The ruling read: “Per the Committee’s review of the dockets, Mr. Buzbee has appeared in cases in this court without seeking admission. Therefore, the Petition is denied.”
