Teyana Taylor shared the new music video for her sultry ballad “Bed of Roses” featuring Issa Rae on the song’s Intro. “Bed of Roses” is the second single from Teyana’s upcoming album, Escape Room.
The video opens with Issa Rae apologizing to her partner for falling in love with her. She tells him she’s sorry that he doesn’t know how to articulate his love. And she urges him to “man up” so she doesn’t have to make all the moves in their relationship.
“I won’t make you look stupid if you won’t make me look stupid,” Issa says in her monologue.
Teyana and British actor Aaron Pierre play a lovestruck couple who can’t keep their hands off each other.
She picks up where Issa Rae left off by addressing her emotionally unavailable lover.
“You want it, you can have it / Don’t waste no time / You need it, I can please it / I want what’s mine,” Teyana sings.
Teyana and NBA free agent Iman Shumpert finalized their divorce in 2024. They share two children, Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., 9, and Rue Rose, 4.
Teyana came out on top in their divorce settlement. She received a substantial cash payout, four homes valued at $10 million, and $8,000 a month in child support.
She also received a $300,000 Maybach, $70,000 Mercedes Sprinter, and a tour bus.
