President Donald Trump announced a mobile phone service for Americans who are charged predatory rates for cell phone plans. The Trump organization announced the new Trump T1 Phone that retails for $499.

Any unlocked phone will work on the Trump Mobile network. The phone is described on the Trump Mobile website as a “sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best from their mobile carrier.”

Trump’s Mobile phone service features a monthly mobile plan priced at an affordable $47.45 a month. The monthly rate is a reference to Trump, who is the 45th and 47th U.S. president.

“I’m incredibly excited to step into this new digital space,” Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, said in a statement on Monday. “Hard-working Americans deserve a wireless service that’s affordable, reflects their values, and delivers reliable quality they can count on.”

Trump Mobile provides 5G service through “The 47 Plan” that will access the same existing networks “as the 3 nationwide phone service carriers,” Trump Mobile says on its website.

The Trump Mobile phone service will compete directly with the three top U.S. wireless carriers: Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T.

The Trump Phone is available for preorder now with a $100 deposit.
