Uber Eats’ delivery robots are delivering food in the Atlanta area. Uber Eats has partnered with Serve Robotics, and customers can now opt to have their food delivered by robots.

The service launched on Thursday in Downtown Atlanta, Midtown and Old Fourth Ward – with plans to expand to Buckhead in the near future.

Customers can order food to be delivered by robots from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Robots will wait 10 minutes at the front door. After 10 minutes, the robots will return to the restaurant.

Robot service is available from Rreal Tacos, Ponko Chicken, and Shake Shack. Other restaurants are expected to sign up.

The news comes days after Uber and Waymo launched a robotaxi service in Atlanta.

Serve Robotics also partnered with Uber Eats in New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Miami.

Serve didn’t report the number of robots deployed in Atlanta. But there are over 2,000 robots operating in other cities in the U.S.

So far, there have been few problems reported. Some robots have been tipped over and their food stolen. Other cities have reported minor vandalism.
